India 2: Pokemon & Laundry
After landing, and not sleeping at all on the 20 hours of flying we all pretty much went straight to bed. In the morning we went to this hindu temple, no photos allowed inside but it was pretty amazing. Lots of beautiful sculptures and gods.
Then onto a mosque... with a camera fee... not a one time fee like I thought, but for each camera you brought in... which means 4 for me and $15. Not worth it.
We took a rickshaw ride around and got stopped when about 20 bicycles fell over in a huge pile. So many wires tangled overhead it's impressive the whole city hasn't burned to the ground.
rickshaw school bus
Old stuff, more temples in a park and a lazy pooch
A Sikh temple, you have to cover your head and be barefoot, also must wash your feet on the way in.
In packing I somehow forgot half my underwear and socks... did laundry before the trip really got underway. After ringing out one of my undershirts it somehow stretched to 8 times its original size............
Epic breakfast buffet of unidentifiable things. This is a Pokemon cutlet, I swear.

India 1: New York City...
Sara, my family, and I just returned from two weeks in India...
We had a full day and a half in New York on the way, arrived at 6am and got rolling to Central Park and the Natural History Museum. We rode the Staten Island ferry that night. Pretty amazing city.
A guy India-bound had this amazing rip-off duffel bag... a reebok robocop mashup. There was also 3 American federal agents escorting a Sri Lankan very terrorist looking guy back home on our flight... he wore a devious smile the whole time while the feds chatted up the stewardesses. Sketchy.
14 hours later we would be in India... The bad news is that the in flight entertainment and movies is not working... but in truth Air India didn't pay the bill for the rights to the movies so they can't show them. It begins!

weekend
Spent at the family cabin for Saras birthday. Quiet & Solitude.
Sara dreamed about winning at a casino so we went on her birthday with a 20 dollar spending limit. I turned a $1.50 bet on a penny slot machine into $46.90 in less than 3 minutes of being there and immediately cashed out. It funded an antique store run for a new camera and some salt'n'pepper shakers for Sara, and also a copy of Tortilla Flat at the library book sale. Two nights of double feature $1 dvds from the movie machine and some nice coffee and cake.
I dreamed that I was at a theater photographing kids for work, while setting up backgrounds and camera stuff I went out to the car to grab something I forgot and when I returned things had changed around inside the place. I climbed a ladder and a little door was opened and Hitler greeted me and motioned to a few signs and asked me to paint them white. The paint he gave me was very watery and worthless and so it was pretty much a failure. Somehow from there I ended up sneaking around a space ship with a laser gun trying to save someone. I blasted a few aliens and watched a small black kid transform into a red skinned alien. The laser gun slowly lost its juice and started spraying globs of acid everywhere instead of lasers. Woke up back on Earth and none of it came true.
